Raymond Julius Wasinger II

April 16, 1949 — October 11, 2023

Raymond Julius Wasinger II (RJ) passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 74 after a
courageous fight against cancer, at home with his children by his side.


RJ was born on April 16, 1949, to Raymond and Florence (Mickey) Wasinger. He grew up in
West Seneca, New York. RJ was the only child but was surrounded by many friends and family.


In 1969, he married Janice Franclemont and they had two children, Raymond (Ray J), and
Bernadette. He worked as a tow truck driver on the New York State Thruway, delivered bread
to local businesses of Albuquerque. He owned and operated a drywall business in New York,
then became a professional truck driver for Swift until he retired.


His passion for music led him to play his keyboards with the band Nomads in the 60’s, Archives
in the 90’s, and many others over the years. In his spare time, he enjoyed talking on his Ham
radios, and fishing.


Raymond Julius Wasinger II (RJ) is survived by his children, son Raymond Wasinger III, daughter
Bernadette (James) Leicht. Grandchildren, Joshua Fruchtel, Jacquelyn (Austin) Mikolajczyk,
Quenten Leicht, Hayla Wasinger, Xander Wasinger, Paige Wasinger, Cole Wasinger. Great
grandson Weyman Leclair, and countless extended family and friends. Predeceeded by wife
Janice Wasinger, granddaughter Ava (Blake) Casper, grandson James Leicht, and parents
Raymond and Florence Wasinger.


Friends and family located in the Albuquerque New Mexico area, are welcome to join the
Wasinger family on Thursday, October 19th, 2023, at 6 p.m. for a memorial service located at
The Salvation Army Center of Worship and Service, 4301 Bryn Mawr Dr. NE Albuquerque NM
87107.


To bid a fond farewell to those he loved in the New York area, family is preparing a memorial in
the upcoming weeks and will send notification with the details once decided.
