IN LOVING MEMORY OF WILLIAM (BILL) STAIRWALT

William (Bill) Stairwalt, born April 4, 1951, passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 73 at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bill was born in Canton, Illinois, to the parents of Roland Stairwalt and Patricia Carson. He had a brother, Rod Stairwalt, and a sister, Suzette Lefler, and many nieces and nephews. Bill left Illinois after graduating from college with a business degree, at the University of Illinois, and moved around the country only to settle in Albuquerque in the late 70’s. Because of Bill's love of the outdoors, he moved and lived most of his life in Placitas, New Mexico. For health reasons, he moved back to Albuquerque about 4 years ago. Bill always talked about moving back to Placitas, but living by himself, he knew that would be a challenge. Bill’s love of travel took him all around the world, mostly in Mexico, in his later years, to a small village called Playa Del Carmen. Bill was married several times but had no children. His love of dogs filled that void, and he always had a companion. His most beloved was Bear, whom he had for many years, and his most recent is named Ichi For Ichiban, who is alive and ornery just like his dad. In a career as a retail manager and a salesman, Bill made many friends along the way. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and his ability to always find the best in mankind. Please come and celebrate his life with us. 

A memorial and a reception will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the American Legion Post 49 on 11005 Central Ave NE.
