Mrs. Betty (Veronica) Ortiz passed away on March 20, 2026 at the age of 77. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter Syliva Martinez; mother Pauline Lerma; father Charlie Lerma Sr; sisters Adelaida Lerma, Katy Lerma, and Mary Lerma; brothers Joe Gallegos, Chris Lerma, and Anastacio Lerma.

 She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joe Manuel Ortiz, her daughter Vickie Ortiz and longtime partner Susan, her dog (her baby Pancho), and many nieces and nephews.

 Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23 rd at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW 87105. 

The Rosary will be at 8:15 am and the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Buriel will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Arrangements by Trujillo Funeral Home.
