Tristan Brian Howard

September 16, 1995 — November 4, 2022

Tristan Howard made his journey to Heaven on Friday, November 4th.  He passed away suddenly of multiple blood clots at the age of 27 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his brother, Colin, parents Dennis and Cynthia and grandmother Evelina. Tristan was born in Albuquerque, attended Annunciation Catholic School, and graduated from St. Pius High School in 2014. As a young child through High School he loved art, chess, golf, tennis, basketball, participated in science fairs, and played soccer. At St. Pius he lettered in both Soccer and Service.

Tristan’s passion was the Boy Scouts and especially the BSA Honor Society the Order of the Arrow. Tristan joined Scouts in first grade as a Cub Scout. He went on to a troop and earned Eagle Scout with 8 palms and the top conservation award, the Hornaday. He also was a member of a Venturing Crew. Tristan was chosen to be a member of the Order of the Arrow where he truly shined. Tristan was a Vigil Honor member and received the Founders Award. He rose through chapter and lodge offices and was elected as a section officer in 2014 and 2015. Tristan served as a youth and an adult staff for national events such as Jamboree and NOAC. Once becoming an adult member at 21 he continued to serve as a mentor and adviser to younger members.

Tristan was very involved with Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish. At the end of 3rd grade, he became an Altar Server and continued to serve well past his peers, training younger servers. He assisted as a lead server for funerals, Holy Days, and other special occasions well into his 20s. Tristan also acted as an Altar Server for the Archbishop many times at the annual Rosary Rally and the annual Scout Conferral Mass in Santa Fe. At 12 he started volunteering as staff for VBS and continued every year until his passing. In 2016 Tristan attended World Youth Day in Poland with a group of teens and young adults from the Albuquerque area.

Tristan enjoyed Twitch and Discord on his computer. He was instrumental in setting up, moderating, and generally helping several streaming communities. He helped many streamers launch their careers on the platform.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 16th at Annunciation Catholic Parish. A rosary and meditative prayer will begin at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am. Afterwards the internment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Paseo del Norte and Wyoming. A celebration of life and reception will be held at French Funeral Home, 7121 Wyoming NE, from approximately noon to 3pm.

Tristan was truly a remarkable young man that didn’t seek recognition. He was a servant leader, always willing to help others and give of his time. Tristan left his mark on our community and touched many lives. He left us too soon but will be remembered. Tristan is much loved and will be missed.
