McKinzie

Toshie McKinzie died peacefully on February 23, 2026. Toshie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.Toshie Yoshike was born on in Japan on December 28th, 1937. After her mother died she took care of her sisters during hard times.In Japan in 1959 she met Phillip “Mac” McKinzie and they were soon married.
Toshie began the life of a navy wife, living on base with Mac. In 1964 they were stationed in Albuquerque, NM where Phil and eventually Frank were born. Several years later they were stationed in Japan where Mike was born. In 1972 they settled in Southern California with their three children.
She became a stay-at-home mom and was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family first. Toshies family was her job.in 1986 Philip died after a long battle with cancer, Toshie his constant caretaker. The doctors were amazed that after three years he had not one bedsore. She was a loving caregiver.
Toshie went back to work to support her family. She always had compassion for the disadvantaged. If there was injustice done to the workers by management, she would definitely let them know!
After suffering a stroke in 2005, Toshie was cared for by her son Franklin for many years. He became her primary caregiver and would take her to all doctors appointments and, also to play Bingo regularly!
In 2022 after moving to New Mexico, Toshie moved into Franks house so he could be sure she was taken care of properly. Toshie’s health was steadily declining with heart failure over the years, but to the end she was always so grateful for the care she received. She is greatly missed, and always loved, beyond words.
Toshie is survived by her three sons, Phil, Frank, and Mike and daughter-in-law, Kellie, and granddaughter, Rhea.
Toshie was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters and brothers.
A private Celebration of Life Service will be held April 19th.
