Thomas Richard “Tommy” Trujillo was born on November 12, 1977, to Marguerite Casey and Johnnie Trujillo. Tommy was called home on August 27, 2026, at the age of 48.

Tommy grew up in Socorro, New Mexico, where he developed the competitive spirit, sense of humor, and larger-than-life personality that those who knew him will always remember.

From a young age, Tommy was a gifted athlete. He was an incredible wrestler - tough, determined, and fiercely competitive - and a talented wide receiver on the football field.

Those who knew Tommy also knew his unmistakable sense of humor. As a little boy, he had a lisp that, combined with his quick wit and perfectly timed, unexpected comebacks, could leave everyone around him laughing until they cried. Tommy didn't always need many words to make people laugh; sometimes a look or a short comeback was all it took. His humor and personality had a way of leaving an impression.

As an adult, Tommy earned his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and worked as a truck driver and landscaper. Whether behind the wheel, working outdoors, playing sports, or simply spending time with the people around him, Tommy brought his own personality and character to whatever he did.

And, of course, there was Tommy's love for the Dallas Cowboys. He was a devoted Cowboys fan through the good seasons and the not-so-good ones, and anyone cheering for another team could expect Tommy to have something to say about it.

Tommy's journey through life was not always an easy one. Like so many people, he carried things from his past and faced struggles in his own way. Those who loved him understood that every person carries and responds to life's hardships differently and that we can never fully know the battles another person is fighting.

But Tommy was so much more than the difficult chapters of his life.

He was a son. He was Nyomi's dad. He was a brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, athlete, competitor, and friend. He was the brother who could be equal parts annoying and hilarious, the athlete his family was proud to watch, and the guy whose quick comeback could make everyone in the room laugh.

Tommy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnnie B.G. Trujillo Sr., Maimie (Baca) Trujillo, and John J. Casey.

He is survived by his parents, Marguerite Casey and Johnnie Trujillo; Grandma Gloria Casey (Jaramillo), his beloved daughter, Nyomi Trujillo; his stepmother, Paula Torres; his brothers, Aaron Trujillo, JC Trujillo, Joseph A. Torres, Gavin Torres and sister Johnnie Taylor Trujillo; his Aunts, Karen, Patty, Michelle, Jeanette, and Kris; and his Uncles, Mark, Mitch, Steven, Charles, and Eli.

Tommy is also survived by his cousins, John, Steven, Jason, Erica, Renee, Meghann, Matthew, Kylene, Michelle, Casey, Kristina, and Michael, along with his many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Those who loved Tommy will choose to remember the laughter. They will remember the wrestler and football player, the competitive kid, the truck driver and landscaper, the die- hard Cowboys fan, the perfectly timed comebacks, and all the moments—big and small—that made Tommy who he was.

Most of all, they will remember Tommy—a son, a father, a brother, and a man who was loved and will be missed.

Rest easy, Tommy. May you finally have found the peace you deserved.
