Sylvia “Dolly” Saiz
July 26, 1957 – January 28, 2026
Sylvia “Dolly” Saiz, age 68, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, with family by her side. Known affectionately as “Dolly,” Sylvia was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was the heart of her family and brought laughter with her quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Apodaca, and brothers Paul, Ronald, James, and Jody Apodaca.
Sylvia is survived by her loving children: Antonio Nieto, Alex Saiz and Stefanie Saiz. She was a proud grandmother to her granddaughter Angelica “Morning” Morales, daughter of Stefanie, and to Antonio’s children: son Sebastian and spouse, Chastity, and their children Robert, Layla, Nikko and Mateo; son Vincent and partner, Tiffany, and their children Noah and Starla; and his daughter, Krystal Nieto.
She is also survived by her beloved mother, Alvina Apodaca; her brothers Michael Apodaca and his spouse, Darlene, and Terry Apodaca; sisters Sandra Jenkins, Cynthia Apodaca, and Nancy Apodaca.
Sylvia had a way of lighting up every room she entered. Her humor was effortless and her favorite saying— “Ditto”—became an expression of her love and connection with those around her. Even in difficult moments, she found ways to make others smile.
Sylvia’s life was defined by her strength, loyalty, and the deep love she had for her family. Her memory will live on through the laughter, love, and the generations she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered… Until we meet again— “Ditto.”
Her Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 3-6pm located at the VFW Post 401, 2011 Girard Blvd SE Alb. NM 87106 (corner of Girard and Gibson).
