Sara Elaine Novakovich, aged 86, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, peacefully passed away on February 26, 2026, at the Retreat Gardens in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Born on January 26, 1940, Sara was a beacon of faith and commitment throughout her life, known for her strong belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior and her years of dedicated service as a local pastor.

Sara's legacy is marked by her enduring love for her family. She was a devoted wife for 52 years to Ivo David Novakovich, who preceded her in death in January 2013. She also faced the loss of her beloved daughter, Leslie Piazza, and her grandson, Johnny Piazza.

In her memory, she is survived by her son Loren Novakovich and his wife, Michelle; her sister Beverly Benton; her granddaughter Sara Beuhler; and her grandsons Nicholas and Alex Novakovich. Additionally, Sara is cherished by her four great-grandchildren: Maddox, Wyatt, Connor, and Dean.

A graveside service honoring her life will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, located at 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501, on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Sara Elaine Novakovich will be dearly missed and will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
