In Loving Memory of Salvador Arellanes
January 10, 2026
Salvador Arellanes, a man with a big heart and an even bigger smile, passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2026. Sal was a devoted father, a protective brother, and a loyal friend who spent his life ensuring those he loved were cared for.
A gifted athlete and dedicated student, Salvador was a standout wrestler who earned a full scholarship to Kansas City University. In an act of profound love and sacrifice, he declined the scholarship to remain home and care for his mother, Gloria Espinoza, during her final days. His commitment to family began early; Salvador started working at age 16 to help support his household through difficult times. He achieved professional greatness by becoming a Master Electrician, a path that inspired his brother, Edgar, to follow in his footsteps.
Salvador was the cornerstone of his family. He was the #1 fan of his sister, Gloria, encouraging her to return to school where she excelled as a Senior Pharmacy Technician. He traveled the world with his love, Desiree, exploring new horizons, yet he always remained anchored to his roots. His childhood friends from the 5th grade remained his brothers to this day. On every job site, he was known for his laughter, his jokes, and his ability to brighten anyone’s day.
He is survived by his beloved children, Sophia and Adrian Arellanes King; his father, Agustin Arellanes; his siblings, Gloria, Edgar, and Isabel Arellanes; his nieces and nephews, Javier, Liliana, Jayden, Alyssa, Marisa, and Karina; and his partner, Desiree Rutherford. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Espinoza, and his grandparents, Guadalupe and Adelila Espinoza, and Rita and Evodio Arellanes.
Salvador fought hard to overcome his illness, and while his family misses him deeply, they take comfort knowing he is no longer in pain and has been reunited with his mother in Heaven.
