With deep love and sorrow, we announce that Rosemary Chavez Tafoya passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, at age 74. When the Lord calls, you answer.

Rosemary was born in Albuquerque on May 27, 1952. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, David Tafoya; brothers, Ruben Chavez (Song Hui) and Michael Chavez; and sisters, Sofia Martinez, Agnes Martinez (Pat), and Sandra Padilla (Don).

She was preceded in death by her son, Phillip Tafoya; parents, Manuela and Gabriel Chavez; siblings, Raymond Chavez, Bernadette Gonzales, and Mercy Chavez; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Michael Chavez, Andres Chavez, Anthony Chavez, David Sanchez, Rick Aragon, and Michael Tafoya. Honorary Pallbearers: Raymond Alderete and Phillip Vallejos

Services will be held at the Church of the Ascension (2150 Raymac Rd. SW, Albuquerque, 87105). Rosary: June 11th, 2026, 6:00 PM, Mass: June 12th, 2026, 10:00 AM.

Burial will immediately follow at Pajarito Cemetery. A celebration of Rosemary's life will be held at the church hall following the burial, with catering provided by Cervantes.
