Rosalio Ernest Valdez Junior

Rosalio Ernest Valdez Junior, 80, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Junior was a Heavy Vehicle Operator Army Veteran, serving three years during the Vietnam War period, earning himself the following medals: Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, and the Army Commendation Medal. He was an avid baseball and softball player, always devoting time and endearment to his team and his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, Rosalio and Onofre Valdez Sr., his grandson Stephen (Estevan) Soto, and his siblings Gloria Ann Valdez, Mary Ann Ealy, Jose Bernadino (Benny) Valdez Sr., Christobal (Chris) Valdez, Alicia (Levy) Tenerio, and Margaret Baca. He is survived by his children; Celeste Soto, husband Stephen and Vincent Valdez, wife Angela; his grandchildren; Desiree Reyes, wife Brenda, Dominique Soto, Vincent Valdez, Daneille Soto, and Miquela Valdez; his great grandchildren Arianna Soto-Reyes, Estevan Esquibel, Emiliano Baca and Catia Reyes; and his siblings Patricia (Tootsie) Diggins, husband Frank, Bobby (Taffy) Valdez, wife Petra, Ray (Tony) Valdez, wife Hilda, Sandra (Cindy) Takei, husband Tom, and Margie Lopez, his best friend. Memorial services for Junior will be announced here when dates are scheduled.
