With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Ronald “Ronnie” Salazar on

September 10, 2026. He was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on May 17, 1967,

and later made his home in Albuquerque.

Ronnie was a talented craftsman who worked in skilled carpentry for building

contractors. He was always willing to help friends and family with home repairs

and renovations, generously sharing his time, knowledge, and talents. His kindness

and willingness to lend a hand will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew

him.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, especially enjoying the streams

and lakes of northern New Mexico. Ronnie was also a devoted football fan and

looked forward to watching his favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers, each

Sunday during the season. These simple pleasures brought him great joy and

created many cherished memories.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Salazar. He is survived by his

beloved wife, Cecilia; his father, Richard Salazar; his sisters, Irene Salazar

Weinrich, and husband, David; Meliza Salazar, and husband, Artis Allen; his

brother, Tomás Diaz; and his grandchildren, Xavier, Ezekiel, and Isiah. He also

leaves behind many loving in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews,

who will carry his memory in their hearts.

In keeping with Ronnie’s wishes, no public services or gatherings will be held. The

family will honor his wishes by holding a private memorial in accordance with his

instructions.
