Richard Martinez

November 8, 1946 — June 21, 2022

Richard Martinez, 75, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away on June 21,2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Julia of 53 years, his children who he was so proud of: Susan Martinez and partner Art, Rick Martinez and partner Maxine, and Paul Martinez; his beloved grandchildren who were his world: Manuel and wife Krysta, Dominique and partner Tommy, His buddy Jude, Brandon and partner Havana, Julie and Paul Jr.

Richard was looking forward to the arrival of his great grandson Wyatt due October of 2022. He is also survived by his sister Geraldine Wiest, his sister-in-law, Priscilla Cano, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Manuel and Margaret Martinez and his sisters Lupe Adams and Frances Lyons.

Richard was a long-time funeral director who serviced so many families throughout the years. He loved hanging out at the Moose Lodge with all his friends. And no matter if the Dallas Cowboys won or lost, he was on his recliner cheering them on. We called him the Mayor of Albuquerque because he never ever met a stranger. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. His humble, patient and friendly personality were a blessing to all who knew him. Although his time on earth has ended, we rejoice that he is no longer suffering.

We love and will miss you always,
Hon, Dad and Grampy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 beginning at 1:00 pm at the Tower Road Baptist Church,  86th Street SW Albuquerque, NM 87121.  Reception to follow in the Curch gym.
