November 13th, 1940 — September 15th, 2025

Richard Enerio Lucero, age 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 15th, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Escabosa, NM, on November 13th, 1940, to his parents' Guadalupe Lucero and Juanita Sandoval.

He was preceded in death by his Father Guadalupe Lucero, Mother Juanita Sandoval, and brother Ross Lucero.

He is survived by his loving wife Edna Lucero, siblings Pablo (Lugi), Florenco (Lilian), Joaquin Lucero, and Mary Turietta. His children Richard Lucero Jr. (Luz), Cathy Lucero (George), Debbie Lucero, Bernice Lucero, Tina Trujillo (David), Denise Lucero and Anthony Lucero. Stepchildren Michael Astorga-Lucero (Danielle) and Matthew Astorga. He also had many grandchildren and great children that he loved very much.

Richard proudly served his country in Vietnam while he was in the army, and he completed his time honorably in the national guard when he got home from the war. He loved talking about his time in Vietnam, although it was emotional, he was very happy to have played a role in fighting for his country.

Richard was known for his huge heart and kindness. He was passionate about helping those that faced addiction-related challenges in their lives and made it a priority to help them find the Lord. He spread the word of God and would lend a hand anytime someone needed help. All who knew him recognized his profound love for his family, friends, and anyone else he met. As a pastor and minister, he was faithful in prayer, rich in counsel, quick to listen, and generous with his time and love. He helped countless people solve their problems through the Lord's scriptures. His legacy is not what he did, but who he was!

Though our hearts ache with his absence, we rejoice in knowing he is now with the Lord he served so faithfully. His legacy of love, missions, and ministry will continue to live on through his family and through the countless lives he touched.
