Richard (Rick) Alan Lomeli, 59, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on June 28th, 2025, at his home surrounded by loving family.
Richard was born September 8th, 1965, in Blythe, California, the son of Richard Lomeli and Anita Lopez (Broderick). Richard graduated from Beaumont High School in 1983. He played football and especially loved playing baseball.
Richard joined the Air Force in 1986 and earned an associate’s degree in science from Victor Valley College in 1992. He served during the Gulf War and was honorably discharged in 1993. In the Air Force he was a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) technician. He was a PMEL technician his whole career until his most recent position with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an Airway Transportation Systems Specialist.
In 1995 while working in California, Rick met Melinda, and they fell in love. They were married September 1st, 1996, in Big Bear City, California.
Richard’s main priority in life was loving the Lord with all his heart and taking care of his family. In his spare time, he loved working on cars, especially older Hondas. He loved to drive and take road trips with his family. He grew up riding dirt bikes and developed a passion for cars, especially Hondas and Datsun 240Zs.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Anita, and grandparents Manuel and Dorothy, and Gonzalo and Modesta.
Richard is survived by his wife Melinda, son Alan (Renee), daughter Anita, brother Chad (Josi), sister Leslie (Bryce Guadan), and grandchildren Cody, Parker, and Teagan. He is also survived by many extended family members.
Richard will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Richard will be cremated and interned at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
