Rick was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado where he attended local Catholic Schools, St.

Joseph’s, Roncalli High and Pueblo County High school. He was an athlete during his school

years playing on football and baseball teams. His interest and love of music grew out of a family

tradition, following in his father’s and uncle’s footsteps. His talent in playing the bass guitar lead

him to play with local rock bands with brothers and friends which also allowed him to perform

in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He toured with his band to California where he performed and

recorded music. Rick quickly formed a connection to his new home, Albuquerque, where he

met new friends and formed close relationships. He loved the culture, food and people of

Albuquerque and spoke fondly of all that surrounded him. It was there that he also met his

wife, Sylvia.

Rick is preceded in death by his father, Ralph (Blackie) Gonzalez and brother, Kenny Gonzalez as

well as numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife Sylvia of 47
