Raymond "Raggie" Salazar

Raggie Salazar was born in Cubero, New Mexico to Frank and Placida Salazar on November 21, 1947, in Cubero, New Mexico. He passed away unexpectedly at home on the morning of August 4th, after fighting a lengthy illness. Raggie is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Placida Salazar, brothers, Joe, Manuel, Kiko and Armelino Salazar, sisters, Marcella Abeita, Mary Salazar, Veva Galaviz and Nela Romero. Raggie is survived by his sisters Erlinda, Mabel and Rita Salazar, brother Pat Salazar. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Raggie worked for Bibo Ranch in Cubero for 25 years as a groundskeeper, he also worked for the Acoma Tribe as a maintenance man for 5 years before retiring. He enjoyed listening to music and loved to play his guitars and keyboard, he loved to watch football, especially his Eagles. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and he will be missed dearly.
The funeral mass and rosary begins at 9:30 am on Tuesday, August 12th, which will be held at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, 17 Water Canyon Road, Cubero, NM 87014, with burial to follow at the Cubero Cemetery.
