Pragedis Sanchez

June 20, 1943 — May 7, 2022

Pragedis Sanchez said goodbye on May 7, 2022 at the age 78 in Albuquerque, NM.

Although his journey ended in Albuquerque, the beginning of his story took place in the small town of Jilotlan De Los Dolores, Jalisco, Mexico where Pragedis met his wife, Manuela Sanchez. In Mexico, Pragedis and Manuela extended the Sanchez Legacy when they birthed their first five sons: Jamié, Mario, Edgar, Teodulo, and Cesar who preceded him in death. Later on, he and his new family would migrate to Southern California where they would further strengthen the legacy when they introduced 3 more baby boys: Etor, Charles, and Michael. The family was yet to be complete until Pragedis and Manuela gave life to their first daughter of 9 children, Guadalupe who was born in Chicago, IL.  Ultimately, Pragedis was the catalyst to the forming of a beautiful family tree. He had 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren - he loved them all very dearly and spoke blessings into the bloodline with great passion and love that was natural.

Those who knew Pragedis knew that this natural love of his was expressed through his delicate care of nature itself. He found peace in gardening - and nourishment in looking after animals of all sorts: cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, and yes… including chickens. They say that if you couldn’t find him in nature - it was likely that you could catch him in a button up tee and white runners, testing his luck at the local casino. And while the pessimist might nag that he never won the ‘lottery’, his descendants are proof of his existence as a man abundant in riches and legacy.

The life of Pragedis Sanchez will be honorably celebrated on Tuesday, May 24 at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary.
