Pete Martinez

January 5, 1948 — March 26, 2023

Pedro "Pete" Luis Martinez passed away peacefully in the Veterans Hospital on March 26, 2023 after a long illness.

A life-long resident of Albuquerque, 75 year old Pete was born on January 5, 1948 and attended Albuquerque High.  He served proudly in the US Army, including a combat tour of Duty in Vietnam.  He was honorably discharged in 1969.

Pete worked in several areas of construction and building systems and was one of those handy guys that could tackle almost any repair or renewal or replacement in the house.  He was always a willing helper and could be counted on for help by friends and family.  He especially enjoyed setting tile and he had a creative flair in his tile work.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents Miguel Martinez and Dolores Gutierrez Martinez, his brother, Pancho Martinez and a son, Phillip Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emma Montoya Martinez and by his son, Peter Martinez.

Emma and family thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers and graciously invite you to post any memories for Pete on this site.
