Patrizia Ivey (née Schuch)

Born on July 8, 1962 in Eltville, Germany, and raised among the vineyards of the Rhine, Patrizia Schuch carried a quiet warmth that drew people close. While living in Wiesbaden she met David Ivey—an airman assigned to the U.S. Air Force unit at Lindsey Air Station, a small base tucked into the heart of the city—through a trusted friend. (“If you can’t meet in church,” they liked to say, “meet among friends you trust.”) What began as a simple introduction quickly deepened. “The relationship just flourished,” David said. “I don’t know how to explain it—it was like magic. It felt as if we’d been looking for each other all along.”

After two years of courtship, David asked for Patrizia’s hand. Six months later they were married in David’s home community in Arkansas, where his parents helped make the arrangements and welcomed Patrizia into the family.

Patrizia built a career as a professional esthetician, known for her skill in medical pedicures and facials and for the loyal clients who became friends. Later, an assignment brought the couple to Albuquerque and Kirtland Air Force Base, where they made their home.

She loved flowers, adored animals, and cherished her beloved cat, Otis, who curled beside her as faithfully as any companion. Friends remember her gentle hands, her easy laugh, and the way she made ordinary moments feel cared for.

Patrizia passed away in Albuquerque on March 17, 2026—St. Patrick’s Day—leaving David, her family, and a wide circle of friends and clients who will miss her deeply and hold her memory with love.
