Nick ‘Tata’ Garcia

December 6, 1930 — June 10, 2022

Nick ‘Tata’ Garcia was called home by our heavenly father on June 10th, 2022 at the age of 91.  He passed peacefully at home with Kristina ‘Queena’ by his side. 

 

I Kristina was very fortunate and proud to call him my Dad. 

 

Tata was a kind and generous man, who had a huge heart made of gold, and was well respected in Los Ranchos Community. He lived a good life, enjoying all life had to offer. Traveling, Golfing, going to casinos and driving around Albuquerque and Belen. 

 

He fought for his country in the Korean war. Serving his country as a Corporal in the U.S Army. As well as in the national guard.  He was president of Yellow Freight Golf Club. Was a member of Teamsters Local 492. Member of American Legion Post 13. He retired from Yellow Freight Lines, with 38 years of outstanding service. Then continued to work for another 25 years for Ernie Montoya at Sunwest Silver. In 2018 he retired permanently at the age of 88. 

 

Tata was preceded in death by his loving and caring mother; Susanita Garcia, wife; Irene, Son; Melvin and grandson; Anthony. 

 

He is survived by 2 Nephews; Ted & Patty Sanchez, Tom & Loretta Garcia, 1 Niece; Betty Ann Garcia, 

His 3 daughters; JoAnn & Ruben Vargas, Arlene Lopez, and Kristina & Ariel Marquez. 4 grandchildren; Christopher, Lissa, David and Adrian. 10 great-grandchildren; Ameerah, Alana, Aryana, Adrianna, Krista & Ricci, Brianna & Brian, Erik and Marlene. 2 great great-grandsons; Jaydin & Jordan. 

 

I would like to Thank my son Adrian for helping me take care of Tata. Thank you to his neighbors; Miguel & Alyicia for all the help and support. Along with the Staff at Center Well Home Health & The Staff at Kindred Hospice for the care and therapy he received.  

 

Tata you will be loved and missed forever and will always live in our hearts. May you be at peace. 

 

Private services will be held at a later date.
