Nestora Cleofas
Rodriguez
June 20, 1938 – April 23, 2026
Nestora “Nettie” Rodriguez, 87, passed away on April 23, 2026. She was born on June 20, 1938, at home in Guadalupe, New Mexico. Nettie was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, New Mexico, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and home.
Nettie shared 65 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Juan Roberto Rodriguez Sr. Together, they built their home and raised their four children on their family farm. That home became a gathering place filled with love, laughter, and tradition, a second home to their eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A devoted member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Nettie lived her faith through service and generosity. She was especially known for her red chile and carne adovada. Dishes that became staples at weddings, funerals, and countless community celebrations. Those who knew her could count on her food bringing people together, just as she did. Nettie was a warm and welcoming presence; many would say she was everyone’s “Nanie.”
She is survived by her devoted husband, Juan Roberto Rodriguez Sr.; her children: daughter Roberta Rodriguez and her children Amanda, Matthew, and Errin Trujillo; son Robert Rodriguez and Michelle Rodriguez, and their children Jackie, Sarah, Nicole, and Christopher Rodriguez; son Steven Rodriguez and Michelle Rodriguez, and their children Kayla, Jayden, and Joshua Rodriguez; and son Richard Rodriguez and Lisa Ortiz, and their child Acacia Rodriguez. She is also survived by her sister, Mary-Helen Yardman and Lee Yardman, her nephew, Lorenzo Yardman, and sister Nancy Gallegos.
Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, Cirilio & Sophia Garcia and siblings Gilbert, Cirilio Jr, Leopoldo Garcia, George Navarro, Evila Padilla, and Evangeline Sandoval.
Nettie will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, the home she so warmly opened to generations, and the legacy she leaves behind in each of them. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
