With heavy hearts and endless love, we announce the passing of Nancy Gabaldon, 64, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, who left this world on Monday, December 08, 2025. Nancy was a beloved Mother, Grammy, Sister, Niece, Auntie, Cousin, and Friend whose warmth, strength, and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was a woman full of life, spirit, and strength – someone who loved deeply, lived boldly, and left unforgettable memories with everyone lucky enough to know her.
She was independent to her core, with a vibrant personality that could light up any room. She loved anything and everything that was purple. She loved her high heels, her Crown Royal, her music, and a good party – the kind where laughter flowed easily, stories were shared, and she made sure everyone felt welcome. Her laughter was contagious, the kind that pulled you in and made even ordinary moments feel special.
Gardening was her peaceful place. Whether she was tending to flowers, nurturing a plant back to health, or simply enjoying the sunshine, she found joy in watching things grow – a reflection of the way she nurtured the people in her life.
Nancy lived life on her own terms, full of warmth, humor, and an enormous amount of spark. She showed her family what it looked like to be strong, to be joyful, and unapologetically yourself.
Nancy is survived by her Daughter Erika Gabaldon, Baby Gil Emilia Gabaldon, Brothers John Lucero, Robert Lucero, Wilfred Lucero Jr., and Eric Lucero. Sisters Beatrice Garcia-Sanchez, Evelyn Lucero and Husband Andy Aguilar. Numerous Aunts and Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, and Puppies Enzo and Ezmae who will forever cherish her stories, her laughter, and the love she poured into them. Nancy is reunited with her Parents Wilfred and Mathilda Lucero. Her Grandparents Elof W. and Lina B. Jensen, Christopher and Chonita Archuleta, Encarnacion and Margarita Lucero, and we take comfort knowing she’s dancing, smiling, and celebrating in peace.
A visitation and service to honor her beautiful life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at Trujillo Family Funeral Home Chapel, 110 Alvarado Dr SE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108, from 9 AM- 11 AM. Burial to follow at Estancia Memorial Cemetery, 95 County View Ln Estancia, NM, 87106. She will be laid to rest next to her Mother and Father. Nancy’s Pallbearers will be Robert Lucero, David Archuleta, Steven Archuleta, Anthony Sena, David Archuleta Jr., and Preston Jacobs. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Lucero and Lawrence Archuleta. Celebration will follow Friday afternoon from 4pm-8pm at American Legion Post 72, 5107 Central Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM, 87105. Family and friends are invited to come together, share memories, and celebrate the incredible woman she was.
Her spirit, her smile, and the joy she brought into this world will live on in all of us.
Rest in peace, my Beautiful Marvelous Grammy. We will love and remember you ALWAYS.
Love, Emilia and Erika
