Moses David Lujan-Montoya

July 18, 2008 — September 11, 2023

Moses David Lujan-Montoya, born on July 18th, 2008, left us on September 11th, 2023. He was a remarkable young man who resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended Cibola High School. It is with heavy hearts that we come together to celebrate the beautiful life of Moses.

Moses possessed an incredible intellect beyond his years. He was wise, kind-hearted, and had a humility that touched the souls of those around him. His infectious laughter and boundless love brought joy to all who knew him. As a son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend, he left an indelible mark on the lives he touched.

From a young age, Moses nurtured dreams of joining the military and obtaining his commercial driver's license. His passion for mechanics burned brightly within him as he loved tinkering with bikes, cars, and anything that required intricate knowledge of machinery. He possessed an insatiable thirst for knowledge and found solace in the pages of The Bible; reading became his sanctuary.

Moses had an unwavering dedication to helping others less fortunate than himself. Whether it was feeding the homeless or assisting the disabled, he genuinely cared for those in need. His gestures of compassion inspired everyone around him to embrace empathy and make a difference in this world.

A role model to his younger brother and older sister alike, Moses exemplified what it meant to be selfless and giving. His presence will forever guide them towards kindness and love as they navigate life without him.

While we mourn the loss of Moses today, we find solace in knowing that he has been reunited with loved ones who preceded him in death. His maternal grandfather David "Bamba" Montoya held a special place in Moses' heart alongside uncles Ivan and Sammy Montoya. Also remembered are paternal uncles David and Manuel Lujan. Though their absence weighs heavily on our souls, we are consoled by the knowledge that Moses' spirit now rests peacefully with them.

Moses is survived by his devoted parents, Grace Montoya and Daniel A. Lujan. His maternal siblings, Molly and Levi Montoya, shared an unbreakable bond with him. Also left to cherish his memory are sisters Vannity Padilla and Nariah Lovato, along with maternal grandmother Diane Montoya, paternal grandfather Damian Lujan, and paternal grandmother Yolanda Chavez.

Mourning alongside his parents are his maternal aunt Dianne "Mona" Roybal and Manny Garcia, as well as maternal aunt Lucha Gallegos and Luciano, and a special aunt, Gloria Martinez. Extending their love are Christina and David Hartig, Damiancito Lujan and Virginia Lujan, Domenic and Veronice Lujan, uncle Eduardo Lujan and his special friend, Dorian Clark. Moses was blessed with numerous paternal and maternal aunts and uncles who held a special place in his heart.

Among those who held Moses dear were special cousins Sammy Roybal, Ricardo Hernandez, Seth Gomez, Noah and Lonnie Cardenas, Carla Chavez, and Ronnie Duran. These precious connections filled his life with joyous moments he will forever hold close.

To honor Moses' life and legacy, pallbearers Andres Gonzales, Brian Vigil, Ricardo Hernandez, Seth Gomez, Timothy Padilla, and Lucas Lucero will carry him ceaselessly in their hearts. We must also acknowledge the support of honorary pallbearers Nate Chapman (best and special friend), Manny Garcia, Rick Roybal, Johnny C. Montoya, and Noah Cardenas. Their presence during this difficult time lends strength to those mourning Moses' loss.

In memory of Moses David Lujan-Montoya's vibrant spirit that touched us deeply in his short time on Earth, let us cherish the love he shared, the dreams he nurtured, and the impact he had. We find solace in knowing that Moses' legacy will continue to live on through all those whose lives he influenced.

May his soul find eternal peace and may we honor his memory by carrying his message of kindness and generosity within our hearts forever.
