Los Lunas, New Mexico
In Loving Memory of Molly G. Vigil
Molly Vigil of Los Lunas passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 72, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on November 29, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Molly was known for her generous heart, selflessness, and radiant smile.
She graduated from Rio Grande High School and worked at the UNM Student Health Center until retirement. Her life was dedicated to service, compassion, faith, and selflessness, caring for five loved ones until their passing.
Molly was a devoted spouse to James Vigil for 46 years and cherished her family above all. She treasured her only child, Frankie, and his spouse Brianna. After the loss of his mother, Molly lovingly took in her cousin Lawrence Baca and loved him like a son.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy: Janessa (25), Jaylee (17), Jalena (14), Beverly (4), and her grandson Emmanuel James (2), whom she adored. She found immense happiness in their company.
Preceded in death by her mother, Lugardita “Lou” Martinez, and grandmother, Ignacita Martinez, Molly cherished her extensive family connections.
Molly’s love was evident in her care for others, her encouragement, and her joy in every moment. Always willing to help, she generously volunteered her time and energy, embodying the Fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Tolerance, Kindness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Self-control.
During her hardest times, her faith remained unfaltering, bringing comfort to her family. Her final wish was for her family to remain united, thus leaving a lasting legacy of unity, compassion, and forgiveness.
The family extends gratitude to all who visited, prayed, and supported them, allowing Molly to receive loving care at home, as she wished. Her son remained by her side throughout.
Molly's life was a blessing, her love a gift, and her faith an inspiration. Her legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
May her memory continue to be a blessing for generations to come.
