It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael James Romero. Michael, a thriving 29- year-old living in Seboyeta, New Mexico.
Michael, born on March of 1996, departed from this life to join our Heavenly Father on January 14, 2026.
Michael is survived by his mother, Nicole, and her husband, Bill, as well as his father, Mike, and his gramps, Richard. He leaves behind his sister, Ricci, along with her husband, Aaron, and their son, Anthony, who was Michael’s beloved nephew. His lil’ bro, Dane, also survives him. Michael’s extended family includes his aunt, Di, his uncle, Mon, and his cousin, Emma. He was preceded in death by his gramma, Bern.
Michael loved his family and close friends he chose to call family. He was kind, with a heart for God.
Michael worked as a truck driver and was an active member of the fuel hauling community. Through his work, he formed lasting friendships, particularly at “The Rack.” These relationships often extended beyond his professional life, enriching other aspects of his journey. Michael was known for always having a “buddy”, highlighting his friendly nature and ability to connect with others wherever he went.
Michael found great joy in playing video games, especially through his involvement with his Rocket League gaming group. This community of friends became an important part of his life, offering him opportunities to connect, compete, and share memorable experiences. Through gaming, Michael fostered friendships that extended beyond the virtual world, further reflecting his ability to form meaningful connections wherever he went.
Michael’s most recent passion was 3D printing, which he hoped to turn into a business. He devoted himself to mastering this technology and exploring its creative possibilities, envisioning a future where he could share his creations with others. We are fortunate to receive gifts from his latest venture. Michael had the most kind and gentle soul—a gift we didn't know we would lose so soon.
Services to honor and celebrate Michael’s life will take place in his cherished hometown of Seboyeta, New Mexico. The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 10th, beginning at noon. Following the service, Michael will be laid to rest at the Cebolleta Cemetery. Afterward, family and friends are invited to gather and share memories at his family’s home.
You are the salt of the earth. Matthew 5:13
