Mary Mares 

January 11, 1954 - July 27, 2026. 

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary spent her life in Pena Blanca, NM. 

Married for over 50 years to Arthur Mares together they raised their children Leonard(Trish) and Denise(Manuel). 

She was the proud grandmother to Joshua Mares (Kimberly), Adan Mares, Eliseo Corral, and Aurelia Corral. She also had 2 great grandchildren Zachariah & Dani Jade Mares and was looking forward to the birth of her 3rd great grandchild Ezeriah Malakai Ortiz. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Eliseo & Ursula Montoya. Her brothers Lee Montoya, David Montoya, Terry Montoya. Her sisters Christine Lovato and Sharon Herrera. 

She is survived by her sisters Lorraine Ortiz, Sadie Montoya, Lucille Romero(Joseph), Ida Garcia(Michael), Theresa Bransford, Georgia Velasquez(Ruben) and Melissa Montoya. Also survived by her special brother in law Alex Lovato and her special niece Roberta Lovato. Mary loved her family she enjoyed spending time with countless friends, cousins, and all of her nieces and nephews. 

She always welcomed everyone in with open arms and was generous and loving. She left us too soon and we will continue to honor her by all the memories she left behind. Services will be held at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church in Pena Blanca on Saturday August 29". Rosary at 10:00 am with Mass at 11:00 am. After the services we invite family and friends to join us for food and fellowship at the Pena Blanca Community Center.
