Martin Wilfred Carlson, known fondly as Mort, passed away on March 29, 2026, at the age of 84 in Albuquerque, NM. Born on February 11, 1942, Martin grew up in Albuquerque.

Martin dedicated 45 years of his life to the Albuquerque Publishing Company, where his commitment and hard work left a lasting impact. He also served in the Army National Guard.
Martin had a lifelong passion for the outdoors and motorsports. His interests included drag racing, monster trucks, hiking, fishing, camping, boating, and water skiing. 

Above all, Martin cherished family activities, spending as much time as possible with his loved ones.
He is survived by his sister, Marylou; his children, Rick Carlson and Wendy Sigala; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred M. Carlson and Jennie D. Carlson; his wife, Susan; and his sisters, Doris Sine and Alice Dale.

Memorial services will be held at the Trujillo Family Funeral Home Chapel, 110 Alvarado Dr SE, Albuquerque, NM, on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.

Martin's warm presence and loving nature will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of love and dedication to his family and community will forever be cherished and remembered.
