Martin Dale Aguilar, 55, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on March 6, 2026.
Martin was born on December 18, 1970, in Boise City, Oklahoma, to Raul P. Aguilar and Cora M. Baca. While his roots were in the Oklahoma Panhandle, where he was born and raised, he spent the majority of his adult life in Albuquerque. Martin was known for his steadfast work ethic and dedication and building a career as a roughneck and a security guard. He took great pride in his professional milestones, most notably achieving his Level III Security Certification, a testament to his commitment and skill in his field.
Outside of his work, Martin was a passionate, lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Whether it was a Sunday afternoon game or the height of the season, his loyalty to the Black and Gold was a well-known part of his personality, one he proudly shared with those around him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raul P. Aguilar; his mother, Cora M. Baca; his infant brother, Roy Aguilar; his brother, Billy Aguilar; and his grandparents, Pedro Marquez, Frances Smythe, Manuel Aguilar, and Felipa Perez Aguilar.
Martin’s legacy lives on through his family. He is survived by his son, Joshua Aguilar, and daughter-in-law, Savannah Collette, and his cherished grandchildren, Lilly and Hunter. He is also survived by his brothers, Johnnie (Yolanda) and Lee (Christine); his nephew, Andrew (Flowy), and his niece, Natasha (Jonathan); and a large, loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
