Marquita May Wilkerson 81, passed away peacefully at home on September 7,2025.She was born on April 2, 1944 in Berryville Arkansas to the late Sylvester Levi and Clara Belle Rivett.

Marquita was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Clyde Wilkerson with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her surviving daughter Roxanne Marie Maya and cherished mother-in-law Gary John Maya . She was Preceded in death by her two beloved son's Bobby Ray Vaughn and Alfred Edward Vaughn . She was a loving grandmother to Mellanie Ammons , Alan Broome and Joseph Herrera , Brian Vaughn , Christ opher Vaughn , Casey Vaughn . And a proud great-grandmother to Jordan Herrera , Alexus Flores , Mateo Sanchez , Cruz Herrera , Viviana Herrera and Jeremiah Herrera .

Her late years were spent in Rio Rancho, NM but her heart belonged to Sherman, TX where she spent a good part of her life with her late beloved husband Leonard Wilkerson. Marquita lived her life rooted in faith and family. She loved the lord and was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist church . She found joy in watching old westerns and, sewing ,an d spending time at home with her beloved pets. Marquita will be laid to rest at the Dallas- Fort worth Texas Veterans national Cemetery to be reunited with her late husband Leonard Clydeon.
