Mario Lozoya went to meet his Lord on March 10, 2026. He was born on April 30, 1958, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Mario was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jesusita (Chune) Lozoya ✝️ and Agustin Lozoya ✝️, and his oldest brother, Juan Lozoya ✝️, who welcomed him into heaven. He is survived by his brothers, Raymond Lozoya and Agustin II (Güero) Lozoya, from Albuquerque and his sister, Cathy Sena, from Villanueva, NM. He was also deeply loved by his large extended family of cousins, nephews, and nieces, and many dear friends.
Mario lived a full and happy life. He graduated from Albuquerque High School and went on to graduate from the University of New Mexico (UNM), where he was an active student leader of several student organizations.
While working his way through college, Mario built a distinguished career as a certified journeyman welder, working in Farmington and throughout New Mexico. His dedication to the trade eventually led him to share his expert knowledge as a welding instructor at the Technical Vocational Institute (TVI). He later worked for many years at the University of New Mexico Physical Plant, where he completed a long and dedicated career before retiring. Even in retirement, Mario continued pursuing his passion for welding as a small business owner.
Mario will be remembered by many for his booming laughter, his generosity of spirit, and his deep and abiding love for Christ. Mario so loved to share the Gospel, which led to the salvation of many souls. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mario Lozoya will be laid to rest on Monday, April 13, 2026, with a service at 11:00 am at New Beginnings Church located at 4770 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. A Reception to celebrate his life will follow service at The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, 2121 Edith NE Albuquerque, NM.
