It is with sad hearts that we share the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Marie Isabela Esquibel-Gomez on June 26th, 2026. Marie was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Oct.25, 1928. She was the eldest of 7 siblings and is survived by her younger sister, Teresa. Her family moved to Michigan when she was 6 yrs old. She returned to New Mexico to live near her children in her late 50’s. Family was very important to Marie and she was the loving mother of Lisa (Leanne),Rick(Janice)and Arnold(Christy). Her grandchildren , Leonard, (Chelsea)Ricardo (Alicia), Hunter and Brodi,and the great grandchildren ,Ashten, Aubrey,River,and Conner.

Marie loved to spend time playing games and reading to the little ones, she did service throughout her life and some of her most cherished service was volunteering as a preschool assistant and serving in the Catholic Daughters . She always encouraged her children to be of service and she was very prayerful throughout her whole life.

Marie also loved nature and God’s creatures. Though there were no dogs that could compare to her ‘Scruffy ‘of younger years!! Marie was a strong, courageous and loving New Mexican woman who always told her children (and that included everyone she knew!) to take care of each other, To do service, and to never, say good-bye, but only say ‘See you later!’ Please join us for a celebration of life on August 21st,10:30 at Saint Michael’s and All Angels.
