Marcos Perfecto Chavez, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

He was born January 29, 1945, in Vallecitos, NM.

Marcos spent half of his adult life living and working in San Jose, CA where he met his wife, Lydia. When they retired, he returned to New Mexico and enjoyed reconnecting with friends from his hometown of Vallecitos. He was known for his obsession with new cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Marcos is survived by his wife, Lydia Chavez, his son, Marcos Chavez and daughter in law, Sophannara “Sue” Chavez, his daughter, Cathy Chavez Monroy, his grandson, Donovan Chavez, his granddaughter, Montserrat Monroy, his sister, Maclovia Esquibel, and was preceded in death by his grandson Leonel Monroy.
