Marcia Bockemeier

Marcia Elizabeth Hagele Bockemeier, 78, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on May

24th, 2025. She was born on September 16th, 1947, in Springfield, IL, to Carl P. Hagele

and Eloise J. Smith Hagele, who preceded her in death. Marcia was also preceded in

death by her sister, Barbara S. Hagele Grisar and her husband Norbert J. Grisar

On December 14th, 1974, Marcia married the love of her life, Stephen William

Bockemeier, in Springfield, IL. Together, they began a lifelong journey rooted in faith,

love, and service. In 1975, they made Albuquerque their home, where they raised their

family and became cherished members of the community. Tragically, Marcia, Stephen,

and two of their sons, Erik and Andrew, passed away on the same day.

Marcia is survived by her devoted son, Philip Bockemeier, his wife Karen, and their

children, Keith and Hannah. She is also remembered with love by her nephew, Patrik

Grisar, and her niece, Andrea Grisar Judson, along with Andrea’s husband Bret and

their two children, Oliver and Audrey.

Marcia graduated from Marquette University with a degree in social work and went on to

dedicate her professional life to education. She served as an instructor at Central New

Mexico Community College, specializing in English as a Second Language, where she

empowered and inspired countless students through her compassionate teaching.

In retirement, Marcia found her true calling in Christian ministry. A woman of deep faith,

she poured her heart into women's outreach Bible studies, missionary work, and

numerous ministries, touching the lives of thousands through her tireless dedication and

gentle spirit.

Marcia will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and her

boundless love for her family and community.
