In Loving Memory of Manuelita "Nellie" Cordero
May 6, 1941 – April 30, 2025 Manuelita "Nellie" Cordero, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and Nana to all, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday morning, April 30, 2025. Born on May 6, 1941, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Nellie was married to the love of her life, William "Billy" Cordero, affectionately known as "Tata." Together, they built a loving home rooted in family and faith.
She is survived by her children Will, Priscilla, Christine, and Alfred, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Nellie also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
Nellie was devoted to her family, always placing them at the center of her life. She especially cherished her role as Nana, and Nana Nellie finds joy in every moment spent with her grandchildren. Known for her love of crossword puzzles, thrift shopping, trips to the casino, and watching her favorite shows—Law & Order SVU, and Criminal Minds—Nellie lived her life with honesty, humor, and heart. She was never afraid to speak her mind and the truth, even though it wasn’t what you wanted to hear, one of the many reasons she was so deeply loved. A Celebration of Life will be held in New Mexico on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 4:00PM-8:00PM. Please reach out to the family for further details. She will be remembered with love and missed beyond words.
