It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Louie Gutierrez on May 23, 2026.

Louie was born on November 5, 1959, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Fred and Stella Gutierrez. After being diagnosed with leukemia, Louie fought an unwavering battle with courage and grace before succumbing to the disease. Louie’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled.

Louie graduated from Albuquerque High School and soon entered the construction trade as a residential and commercial building framer. He practiced his craft in both New Mexico and Nebraska. Louie loved to fish and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Having a quick wit and gregarious personality, Louie never met a stranger. He is survived by his son Patrick (Tami) Gutierrez, his former wife and best friend Molly Gutierrez, brother Basil Gutierrez, sister Rosemary (Connie Mack) Batts, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Louie’s life will be held on Saturday June 27, 2026, at 2124 Buckingham Ct NW Albuquerque, NM 87120 from 2:00 to 6:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Leukemia Society or the American Cancer Society.
