Hi friends, Linda will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, June 16. The urn will be placed in a marble "columbarium" with her name on the door. I will join her, when available! Here is a possible obituary.
There was a 'change in the Force' on May 22, 2025. That day, Linda Joyce (Williams) Clark took her final breath and promptly said "hello" to her parents, her sister, MY parents and brother, many friends not forgotten, and of course, five pups. Linda was a force unto herself. She loved her friends and life partner Terry with all her heart. As Thomas Hughes said, "Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self, and appreciating what is noble and loving in another." She adopted, equally easily, her friends (Ken and Sue), her bosses (Jennifer and Jackie), co-workers (Claudia, Gaye and Marcia), Terry's co-workers (Tom and Elaine and many more), her in-laws (Roger and Loretta, Tom, Lynn, Patti and families), strangers met at the market (Peter and Lan), neighbors (Justin and Vanessa, Jessie and Jess, Rip and Tina, Ted and Susy), and all their respective families, dogs, and cats! Most, or all of them, have her quilts, cross-stitches, Christmas ornaments, baby blankets, and more. GIVING was the nectar in her life's flower. A GIRL, born February 23, 1948, to father Sidney Williams and mother Lucy Elizabeth Fairhead Williams, at County Hospital, Mill Road, Cambridge, England. Joining older sister Olive, and to be joined later by brother John and sister Carol. Raised in the village of Cherry Hinton, in the Cambridge area. Linda graduated from Netherhall Secondary Modern Girls' School April 5th, 1963. That's right, she was 15, by just weeks. Her teacher in Art/Craft commented, "Linda has worked well and shown interest." On needlework, "Capable of good work." Talk about understatement. Her math teacher saw her future as well, "Linda can do very good work but is very talkative sometimes." HA! Before graduating school, Linda was a proud member of the St. John Ambulance Association, getting certified in "first aid to the injured", "road safety", and "ambulance nursing", in 1958, 59, and 60. She loved to tell me about that time. Linda humorously related the time in the early 1960's, in which she was a cashier at Boots drug store in Cambridge. She happened to serve Bonny Prince Charles, who handed her a note in payment. She asked, how does it feel to pay with a bill with your Mum's picture on it? He was amused. (They are both the same age.) Linda met Terry Clark in Denver on Memorial Day weekend, 1982. They married June 25, 1991. Ceremony at Clark family church, Grace Lutheran, in Loves Park, Illinois. 43 years together. We traveled together to Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Holland, Wales, Scotland, and Belgium. Often with Mum Betty along. Quoting Jeremy Taylor, "The more we love, the better we are; and the greater our friendships are, the dearer we are to God." Linda personified!
