Laura Geronilla (1961-2026) 

Laura Geronilla, 64 of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on March 26 2026, at UMH Hospital.

Born in San Diego, California in 1961, Laura was a woman of vibrant spirit, deep integrity, and unwarvering compassion. 

A graduate of Sweetwater High School, Laura proudly served her country in the United States Army. That military foundation shaped her distinguished 40-year career as a retail store manager.  Though her colleagues would often joke that they "weren't in the military," Laura's leadership was defined by a rare combination of high standards and profound fairness, earning her the lasting respect of every team she led. 

Outside of work Laura lived for football. For her, it was football season all year round. A "Faithful and devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers, she brought the same infectious energy to cheering on her team as she did to every other part of her life. Above all, Laura was a remarkable friend who consistently put the needs of others ahead of her own. Her selfless nature and her constant willingness to help anyone in need will deeply missed by her Albuquerque community and beyond. 

Laura is survived by her devoted life partner of 42 years Yvonne; and her beloved Chihuahua Ggi. She is also survived by her four brothers Martin (wife Maria) Donovan (partner Angelica) Maile (wife Rozana) and Ryan Geronilla; as well as a large, lovinng family of many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Martin, her mother Joyce Geronilla, and her sister Pearl Trias. 

Laura know you are loved and you will be deeply missed. Go Niners!
