Larry Eugene Norsworthy

Larry Eugene Norsworthy, 60, passed away April 4, 2023, in Albuquerque and was a long-time resident of Artesia, NM.   Memorial services will be at Harvest Fellowship (old K-mart building) 2307 W. Main in Artesia, May 6, 2023, at 3 p.m.

He was born in Ventura California to LaVerne (Gotcher) & Larry E. Norsworthy.  His family moved to Artesia in 1976 where he attended Jr. High and High school.

Years following high school, Larry worked on a Teladyne Seismograph crew, as a welder for Nova Bus in Roswell, and drove trucks in the oilfield for several different companies in SE NM and Texas prior to retiring.

Larry married Deb Norsworthy on January 31, 1984, and from that relationship he gained three sons, Donny Stafford, Ronny Stafford, & Billy Harris.

He later married Dana Norsworthy and gained another son and two daughters.  Will Smith, Mellissa Williford, & Christy Smith.

The saying “A real father is the one who raised you, not the one who made you”, fit Larry to a tee.

He loved to tease everyone, especially his grandkids.  “Crazy Grandpa” will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Larry is survived by sons, Donny Stafford (Analisa Perez) of Albuquerque, “Billy” Wm. Harris, & Will Smith; daughters, Melissa (Charles) Williford & Christy Smith. Stepmom, Karen Norsworthy.   Brother Rafford Tucker; sisters Debbie (Joe) Dunn & Beverly (Robin) Newsom.   Grandchildren, Alexa Stafford, Tyler Stafford, Jeremiah Montoya, Josh Montoya, Jazmeen Montoya, Jennifer Montoya, Jay Williford, Alex Williford, Sadie Williford, Zabrina Peralta, Trinity Peralta, Jazlynn Smith, Brycen Smith, & Journey Smith. Aunt, Shirley Sanchez, of Artesia. Numerous cousins, nieces, & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother LaVerne, stepfather Buddie Strawn and Father Larry; grandparents, Jack & Letha Gotcher & Ruby Norsworthy; son, Ronny Stafford; two brothers, Holly Norsworthy & Timothy Norsworthy; several uncles and aunts.
