Karen Joan Weber, 88, passed away peacefully at Sandoval Regional Medical Center near her home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Born in Everett, Mass, Karen lived in Winthrop, Mass. She moved to California and graduated Fairfax High in 1955. She met the love of her life, Ronnie, on a blind date and married him in 1957.
Karen was a stay-at-home mom while her kids were young. She worked for a few years in the bakery industry until she found her passion in the jewelry business. She worked for Slavick"s jewelers for a few years until she formed a partnership with the manager there and opened Lee Levine Jewelers in the Northridge Fashion Mall. She shined like a diamond there and loved helping find just the right piece of jewelry to commemorate special occasions.
She enjoyed years of playing Pan and mahjong with lifelong friends and was the life of any party.
Karen and Ron retired in Las Vegas, Nevada where they lived for 25 years. She enjoyed Las Vegas living but missed her great-grandchildren in Albuquerque, NM. She and Ronnie moved to Rio Rancho, NM to be close to her great-grandchildren and other family.
Karen is survived by her husband Ron of 69 years, her children Wendy Allen (Brett), Robert Weber (Debbie), and James Weber (Stefanie); her grandchildren, Jason Weber, Lauren Amagai (Weber) (Kevin), Lindsay Allen and Amanda Allen, and her great-grandchildren, Damien, Isla and Charlie.
