Karen Martinez

February 17, 1949 — January 7, 2024

Karen Marie Martinez (née Kindley) passed away peacefully in her home on 01/07/2024 at the age of
74. Karen was born in 1949 in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was married to her husband Robert Martinez for
55 years.
Karen is survived by her husband Robert and her 3 children, Roberta Fotter (Matt); Leslie Brooks; Eric
Martinez (Priscilla). Karen is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Jason Ryberg; Natalie Price-
Martinez (Abby); Adam Brooks; William Fotter; Thomas Fotter; Sydney Lopez Martinez; Mackenzie Lopez
Martinez; Mason Lopez Martinez; and great granddaughter Zelda Price-Martinez.

Karen’s love for her family was what truly defined her. She prioritized the happiness and well-being of
her loved ones. She always knew what was going on with everybody, and was so proud of her children
and grandchildren. She loved her sisters, brother, nieces and nephews and extended family very much.
She created a warm and welcoming home, filled with joy, laughter, and love.

Karen was also married to her best friend and the love of her life, Robert. They celebrated their 55th
wedding anniversary in November. Robert and Karen created a lifetime of beautiful memories, whether
it was traveling to see their grandchildren, going out to eat, staying up late talking, or even just watching
Dancing with the Stars with their dinner group. They had many special travel memories, especially trips
to Europe and Hawaii.

Karen loved the joy and spirit of each holiday, hosting huge meals for her entire family and friends and
everyone else without a place to go. She took great delight in bringing her family together to share in
the festivities. She planned elaborate meals and had special decorations for each holiday.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love and the memories she created will forever live on in
the hearts of her family.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park
next to her mother Margaret Kindley and sister Kathy Kindley.
