Judith Arnold Thompson — “Judy”

December 1, 1943 – September 11, 2026

Judith Arnold Thompson, known to all as Judy, 82, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, after a long illness, following more than a year in hospice care. She had made Albuquerque her home since 1980.

Born December 1, 1943, Judith Arnold carried her Southern roots with her always — in her warmth, her wit, and the way she always had a joke and a story ready to share. She was a woman of big personality and an even bigger heart.

Judy dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, working nights for many years. Loving, caring, funny, and full of life, she touched so many people and will be deeply missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Trisha Thompson, who lovingly cared for her for the past six years; her grandchildren Maggie, Brittney, and Tiffney; and by her 5 siblings.

She is now finally at peace with her son, her best friend, her parents and everyone who went before her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 27th. Time and location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please share one of Judy’s jokes with someone who needs a smile, in her memory.
