Jose Antonio “Martin” Armijo

April 14, 1938- August 23, 2024

A heart of gold stopped beating peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. 

Martin is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Evangeline Armijo, his children Denise Gonzales (John), Jerry Armijo, Rosemary Armijo, Dorie Sandoval, Leroy Perea (Carol), Johnny Perea (Christie), Jennifer Abeyta, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Martin is preceded in death by, parents Santiago and Maria Armijo, siblings, Jimmy Frank, and Annie Lorella, beloved son James Armijo, and grandson Abel Salazar. 

A resident of Bernalillo New Mexico, Martin graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic school. He proudly served in the US Navy. He was a member of Teamster Union and a truck driver for 30 years. His kindness and love for life was known, always making others smile. He valued maintaining his yard and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He made great memories, camping, traveling, and fishing. His great memories and loving personality will forever be treasured in our hearts. 

Pallbearers: Angel Armijo, Efren Sandoval, Joseph Abeyta, Joshua Perea, Leroy Perea Jr., Lorenzo Armijo, Steven Armijo.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 30, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 10:30 am and the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 S. Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM.  Burial will take place at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery, US 550 Bernalillo, NM.
