John Norman Lucero, the Rose Whisperer, was born on May 18, 1952, in Washington D.C, moving with his parents to Albuquerque, New Mexico, before he was one. He left this world on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the age of 73. He was known for being feisty, funny, for always having a new recipe and for being a rose and soil expert. He served our Nation, enlisting in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a small business owner for most of his career.

Most of all, he was loved abundantly. He is survived by the love of his life, Claudia Lucero, his three children (who love him most-er-est) - Michelle, Kelli and Matt, 5 grandchildren - Tessa, Hayden, Ashley, Jenny and Jackson, his 6 siblings - Joey, Jill, Jay, LeAnne, Lori and Julie and countless friends.
