John Andy
Castillo

John "Andy" Castillo
July 14, 1949 – April 8, 2026
John Andy Castillo, known to everyone who loved him simply as Andy, passed away peacefully
on April 8, 2026, at the age of 76. He left this world surrounded by the love of the family he
spent a lifetime building and protecting.
Born on July 14, 1949, Andy was a man of character and quiet strength. He believed in the value
of a hard day’s work and the sanctuary of a happy home. For 53 years, he was the devoted
husband and best friend to his wife, Marie. Together, they navigated the highs and lows of life
with a rare kind of loyalty, proving that a marriage built on friendship and respect can weather
any storm.
Andy’s greatest pride was his role as a father to John, Chris, and Andrea. He taught them by
example, showing them how to be resilient, how to find the humor in a difficult situation, and
how to show up for the people you love. As his family grew to include five grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren (with a sixth on the way), Andy found a new calling as a grandfather.
He was the storyteller, the keeper of family history, and the person who could make any child
feel like the center of the universe with just a wink or a well-timed joke.
He was known for a sense of humor that was as sharp as it was kind. Andy didn’t need to be the
loudest person in the room to be the most impactful. He had a way of offering support through
quiet moments, a funny joke or helpful mechanic hand. He made people feel safe and cared for, a
gift that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Andy was preceded in death by his beloved son, John Joseph Castillo. While the loss of his son
was a heavy burden to carry, Andy’s strength helped his family endure, and we find great
comfort in knowing they are finally reunited.
Andy was preceded in death by his mother Jennie Castillo, father Jose Castillo and beloved son, John Joseph Castillo.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; his children, Chris and Andrea; his grandchildren; and a
community of friends and extended family who were better for having known him. Though our
hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life exceptionally well-lived. Andy’s laughter will echo in our
memories, and his love will remain our guiding light.
Andy Castillo’s funeral services will be held on June 13 th at 9:30 am, at St. Jude Thaddeus.
