Ivon Juteau Sr. was born on August 12, 1956, in Blind River, Ontario, Canada, and passed away

in Grants, New Mexico, on July 29, 2026. He lived an eventful and adventurous life, guided by

an independent spirit, a strong work ethic, and a curiosity that continually led him toward new

places, new people, and new projects.

Ivon, known to many as “Frenchy,” was a hardworking man who was intelligent, resourceful,

and gifted with his hands. He spent many years in the mining business and was also a great

salesman whose outgoing personality allowed him to connect easily with people. He was never

afraid of hard work or taking on something new. When Ivon had an idea, he had a way of finding

out how to make it happen.

An adventurer at heart, Ivon loved road trips, camping, fishing, and discovering new places.

Family time was important to him, and he was often the one who wanted everyone to get

together, get on the road, and experience something new. Those family trips and road trips

created memories his family will always carry with them.

His adventurous spirit took him and his family to many places throughout his life, including the

Black Hills of South Dakota, Colorado, and New Mexico. Of all the places life took him, New

Mexico truly captured his heart. He developed a genuine love for its land, people, and culture.

He loved Mexican food, purchased his own piece of land in New Mexico, and dreamed of

building a home there. New Mexico became more than simply another place Ivon lived. It was

the place he considered home.

Frenchy was known for his great, fun-loving personality. He was outgoing, made friends easily,

and was often the person entertaining everyone around him and making people laugh. He had a

beautiful smile, striking eyes, and curly hair, and there was no shortage of women who noticed.

Frenchy was quite the catch. Beyond his good looks, however, was a personality people

remembered. He had a natural way of connecting with people and could meet someone as a

stranger and leave having made a new friend.

Ivon was someone his family could call and talk to about anything. He was someone they could

rely on, trust, and confide in, and that trust went both ways. He was loved within his community

just as he was loved within his family. The memories he created with those closest to him will

continue to be cherished, along with the many stories shared by those who knew him throughout

his eventful life.

Ivon also had a special love for cats. His beloved cat, Raquel, was his companion and an

important part of his life, and she survives him.

Ivon was the father of Jeanette, Derrick, Randy, and Yvon Jr. He was the grandfather of Deonte,

Nevaeh, Makaijah, Yasmin, and Paige, and he lived to welcome his first great-grandson, Adonis.

Ivon was also a brother to Claude, Pierre, and Claudette.

For those who knew Ivon, whether they called him Ivon, Frenchy, Dad, Grandpa, brother, family,

or friend, his life will be remembered through the stories he left behind. The family road trips,

laughter, friendships, hard work, places he explored, and adventures he shared with others are

memories that will live on.

He worked hard. He explored. He created. He laughed. He made friends wherever life took him,

and above all, he loved his family. Ivon Juteau Sr. lived a life that gave those who knew and

loved him many stories to remember and many memories to cherish.
