Isaiah Michael Ramirez, 22, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2026.Isaiah was born in Albuquerque on December 20, 2003, to Isaac Ramirez and Vanessa Santistevan. After graduating from high school, Isaiah proudly joined the United States Army, where he faithfully served his country.

Isaiah bravely battled private struggles while carrying a heart full of love and a smile that could light up any room. Though his journey was marked by pain, those who knew him will remember his kindness, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely. We find comfort in knowing that his soul is now free from the chains of depression and at peace with God.

Isaiah would have wanted those he loved to seek help and know that they never have to face their struggles alone. Isaiah was preceded in death by his Aunt Lucha Ramirez; his grandfather, Edward “Lalo” Ramirez; his great-grandmother, Cecelia Santistevan; his great-grandfather, Santiago Valencia; and his great-grandmother, Sally Zamora and Uncle Michael “Dos” Barreras. He is lovingly survived by his mother, Vanessa Santistevan; his father, Isaac Ramirez and stepmother, Tamesica Rivera; his sister, Cierra Ramirez, and brother-in-law, Jaziah Brown; and his greatest pride and joy, his niece, Sanova Brown. He is also survived by his stepsiblings, Elias, Jazzy, and Jamie; his grandparents, Bettie Ramirez, Michael and Katherine Santistevan, and Denise Zamora, Great Grandparents Johnny Santistevan and Clara ValenciaIsaiah also leaves behind his aunts and uncles: Raul and Naydene Castañeda; Joshua Santistevan and his wife, Mariah; Angelia Santistevan and Liam; Dominque Santistevan and Will; Anthony and Sandra Ramirez and Michael and Linda Santistevan.

He will be deeply missed by his cousins: Robert Mora and his spouse, Erin, and children, Adrian and Nolan Mora; Alfonso Ramirez and his wife, Rachael, and their children, Cordelia and Emma; Rocco Ramirez; Ace Ramirez; Casey Gonzales; Cassandra Gonzales; Benicio Santistevan; Niko Santistevan; Anthony Padilla, Michael Santistevan III; George Wyler; and Joseph Wyler. 

Isaiah also leaves behind his best friends who became family: Julian Salazar and The whole Gomez family; Donavin Gomez and family; Diego Little and The whole Little family; Dominic Esparza and The whole Esparza family; Andrew Sanchez; Jose Valdez and The whole Valdez family; Maya Padilla; Jerrianna Sandoval; Treasure Molina and so many other cherished friends whose love, loyalty, and unwavering support were a treasured part of his life. Their friendship brought Isaiah laughter, strength, and countless memories that will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Isaiah’s life will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sagebrush Church, 7555 Enchanted Hills Blvd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144. A reception will follow from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at American Legion Duran y Gallegos Post 69, 9000 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly encourages donations in Isaiah’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, honoring his service and sacrifice. Isaiah’s time with us was far too short, but the love he gave, the memories he created, and the lives he touched will remain in our hearts forever. He will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
