Irene Marie Haran October 2, 1953 – October 23, 2026
Irene Marie Haran, 73, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026.
Irene was born in Montebello, CA, on October 2, 1953, and was raised in East Los Angeles with her four sisters. She worked in medical records and later went back to school to become a certified medical coder. She worked at various health systems in Albuquerque until her retirement in 2018.
In her early adult years, she enjoyed staying home to raise her three children. Later, she filled her free time with creating art and taking long walks. Most recently, she enjoyed her aqua aerobics classes, going to the gym at the senior center, and traveling to see her children and grandchildren.
Irene was strong in her Christian faith and was kind and caring to everyone she met. She treasured time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, and she loved to travel. She found her happiest place by the ocean, whether in San Diego, one of her favorite places to spend time, or on the beaches of Hawaii.
She was married to Patrick Haran for 50 years and 7 months.
Irene was preceded in death by her son, David Haran, and her sister, Martha Camacho.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Haran; her son, Michael (Amber) Haran; her daughters, Jennifer Nunez and Sara (Brian) Williams; her grandchildren, Brandon Haran, Kyle Graham, Isabella Nunez, and Jett Haran; her great-grandchild, Aubry Haran; her sisters, Margaret (Alexander) Palos, Diana Martinez, and Edna Castro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at the Pacific Beach – La Jolla Chapel, 4710 Cass Street, San Diego, CA 92109. The service is open to the public. Burial will follow at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
Because Irene loved flowers so much, the family kindly encourages flowers to be sent to the Pacific Beach – La Jolla Chapel, where her services will be held.
