Irene Abney (born Irene Duran) passed peacefully surrounded by her family in her home December 31 st 2025.

Irene was born September 6, 1947 in Ocate, New Mexico to Felipe and Loyola Duran.

She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Cousin.

She was a kind hearted, reliable, and enthusiastic woman, she valued hard work, honesty and kindness, She was known for her strong work ethic and willingness to help others.

She is survived by her children Michelle, Edward, Paul and Chaline, Jesse and Lala Baca, Jonathan, Dominic and Brianna. Her grandchildren Monique, Nate and family, Mikey, Matthew, Estrella and Abel. Her siblings Alice, Bernie, Becky and David.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Greg Abney and siblings Edward, Patsy, Sadie and Abel.

She will be honored, remembered and missed by all her family and friends who loved her deeply and unconditionally.

A service will be held on January 30 th 2026 (1/30/2026) at 12 o’clock pm at Sagebrush Uptown. Located at 1613 Arizona ST, NE ALBUQUERQUE NM.
