Hubert O. Salazar 'Guero' November 3, 1952 - August 07, 2026 In loving memory of Hubert Orlando Salazar "Guero" age 73 who passed away peacefully on August 07, 2026. Hubert was born on November 3, 1952, to Isauro and Carmen Salazar in Alcalde, New Mexico where he was raised for several years, then moved to Albuquerque with his family, where he continued school until graduating from Valley High School. Hubert was a beloved father, son brother, uncle, but most importantly a grandfather. He was also recently blessed to become a greatgrandfather to a beautiful baby girl. Hubert is survived by his son Orlando Apodaca; six grandchildren, Breanna, Santos, JJ, Santiago, Atreyu (little Guero) and Ezekiel; one great grandchild, Sirina. He is also survived by his godsons, Estevan and Adam Jr. He leaves behind six sisters: Berna (Mardy), Diolando, Elaine (Richard), Janell (Eugene), Lea-Etta (Pamela), Melinda (Jesus); four brothers: Milford (Marcella), Jay, Steven (Margaurite), Ryan (Lori) sister inlaws Mary and Olivia along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly. Hubert will be remembered for the memories he created the time he shared with those he loved, and the lasting impact he had on the people around him. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Isauro and Carmen Salazar, and his brothers Lawrence, Izzie, Felix and Eddie. Hubert began his young career in the food industry as a chef. He later worked with Albuquerque National Bank for many years, became a jewelry maker with Eddie for several years, did construction with his father and brother Lawrence and brother-in-law Mardy, but his true passion was always music. Hubert played the organ and vocals and eventually joined the band formed by his brothers Felix and Milford, the band would be Felix and Milford Salazar and The Purple Haze. Music was a special part of his life and a gift he shared with those around him. he Salazar family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Hospice for the wonderful care for Hubert, and Steven and Maggie Salazar for the wonderful care they did at home. Funeral services are pending at this time.
